World famous Irish folk band The Dublin Legends, formerly The Dubliners, coming to Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham and you could win tickets

A world-famous Irish folk band are coming to Grantham and you could be there.

The Dublin Legends – formerly the world-famous Irish folk band The Dubliners – are to make their first ever appearance in Lincolnshire when they play at the Grantham Meres Leisure Centre as part of their St Patrick’s celebration tour in 2025.

The gig takes place on Saturday, March 8, at 8pm and we’ve got four pairs of tickets to giveaway, with each pair worth £54.

Following the sudden death of The Dubliners founding member Barney McKenna in 2012, it was agreed that The Dubliners, as a touring band, would come to an end - and The Dublin Legends were born.

The Dublin Legends - Sean Cannon, Paul Watchorn, Gerry O’Connor and Shay Kavanagh - have over 50 years of performing experience between them with The Dubliners and Sean Cannon has been the lead singer with The Dubliners for over 30 of them (taking over from the late Luke Kelly in 1984).

The Dublin Legends will, of course, continue to play all the classic songs and ballads known the world over: Fields of Athenry, Dirty Old Town, The Wild Rover, The Rare Auld Times, Molly Malone, The Irish Rover, Black Velvet Band and Seven Drunken Nights.

In the past five years the band have continued on the legacy of The Dubliners, playing concerts to a whole new generation of fans.

They have wowed audiences in Iceland, Norway, Finland, The Faroe Islands, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland and all over England, Scotland and Wales. Such is their continued popularity; the band have toured almost non-stop in the past year.

This concert will be The Dublin Legends’ only show in Lincolnshire in 2025.
