Boston department store will re-open in ‘early 2025’

A department store will re-open in the new year, it has announced.

The three-storey Rebos store in Boston has earmarked ‘early 2025’ to return to trading.

The former Oldrids site has closed twice previously, and has remained shut since last October, but bosses hope a new approach to business can keep the Strait Bargate building bustling.

The store recently mooted ideas such as becoming a multi-use development, community hub and even marketplace for vendors.

“The building is opening early 2025,” Rebos announced on social media.

“With an improved kids play, food and drink offering, and new retail businesses have already signed up.

“If you want to be part of this exciting new chapter to this historic building - then get in touch. Let’s make Boston great again.”

Members of the public welcomed the post.

“Really hope this works out for you and the town,” wrote one, while another poster added: “Anything you do to improve the town is greatly appreciated. I hope it all works out for you.”

A third said: “Should be a Primark.”
