Man dies following two-vehicle collision at Swineshead Bridge, near Boston




A man has died following a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency services were called to an incident on the A1121 at Swineshead Bridge, near Boston, just after 2.40pm yesterday (April 29).

The two vehicles involved were a white Audi A7 and a Scania HGV. The Audi car was travelling eastbound towards Boston, and the HGV westbound towards Hubbert’s Bridge.

Confirmation of the Audi driver’s death now means that three people have died in separate collisions across Lincolnshire on Monday - with fatal crashes also reported in Boston and at Gunby Roundabout.

“The driver of the Audi, a 37-year-old man sadly died at the scene of the collision,” a Lincolnshire Police statement confirmed.

“His family have been informed.

“The driver of the HGV was not seriously injured.”

Police are now seeking witnesses who may be able to help with their enquiries.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have information that will assist our investigation and has not yet spoken to officers,” the statement added.

“We are appealing for any video footage that may have captured either vehicle as they travelled towards the area, or the collision itself.”
