Two teenagers arrested after stabbing at Wellhead Park in Bourne as police continue murder investigation
Police have arrested two more people on suspicion of murder after a stabbing at a town park.
A man in his 30s died at Wellhead Park in Bourne after a stabbing on Wednesday night (June 26).
Lincolnshire Police announced yesterday (June 27) that three people were arrested in connection with the incident – a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy. Police believe the three people are known to each other.
Two more people, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, have now been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police can hold suspects for up to 24 hours before they have to either charge or release them.
They can apply to keep a person in custody for up to 36 or 96 hours if they are suspected of a serious crime, such as murder.
Lincolnshire Police declined to say if anyone had been charged.
Most areas of the park have reopened this morning (Friday, June 28), although some parts remain cordoned off while police continue their investigations.
An underwater search unit has been called to the Wellhead Park, which has two waterways, the Bourne Eau and St Peter’s Pool.
Investigations are ongoing.
