Bourne Town have been drawn away at AFC Whyteleafe in the quarter-final of the FA Vase

Bourne Town will face a seventh successive away trip in this season's FA Vase.

The Wakes will travel to face Combined Counties League Premier Division high-flyers AFC Whyteleafe in their quarter-final clash on Saturday, March 1.

The draw was made live on talkSPORT 2 on Monday afternoon with the Wakes set to hit the road again.

After overcoming Harrowby United in a first qualifying round clash at the JJ Mac Stadium back in August, Bourne have reeled off six consecutive away wins in their club history-making Vase run.

They have defeated Blackstones, Long Buckby, Market Drayton Town, Northampton ON Chenecks, Sutton United (Birmingham) and Atherton Laburnum Rovers en-route to the last eight.

Manager Michael Goode said: "Our away form has been so good in the league and cup competitions so we've got a good mentality away from home.

"We've just got to deal with it again but, as I see things at the moment, we've got a month now without thinking about the FA Vase.

"The full focus has to be on all the other competitions."

It is the furthest Bourne have ever been in the national competition which culminates in a final at Wembley Stadium.

The Vase is part of the Wakes' four-pronged push for honours this term as Bourne are currently in second spot in the United Counties League Premier Division North table ahead of Tuesday's trip to third-placed Lincoln United.

They are also through to the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy where they host neighbours Blackstones on Wednesday, February 12.

Bourne are also in the quarter-finals of the United Counties League Cup where they travel to face Premier Division South side Rugby Borough on Saturday, February 22.
