Bourne Town score 10 goals in their victory at Appleby Frodingham in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy
Bourne Town blasted double figures for the second time in three matches as they made emphatic progress in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy on Saturday.
The Wakes ran out 10-2 away winners at Northern Counties East League Division One hosts Appleby Frodingham in their first round tie.
Zac Allen and Zak Munton both hit hat-tricks on Saturday for the Wakes who stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions to 13 games.
Player assistant boss Dan Flack said: "The boys are on fire at the moment and you can't fault them for scoring 10 goals away from home.
"We said to the lads before the game that it was all about getting into the next round because it's a cup competition that we want to do well in.
"The final is played at a nice ground and they are the places that you want to be able to play at.
"We looked really fresh after a week off and everyone is really buzzing at the moment."
It took Bourne 15 minutes to break the deadlock against their Scunthorpe hosts with Richard Jones heading home from a Munton corner.
Munton doubled the advantage six minutes later when he latched onto a through ball down the middle and slotted home.
A third goal followed two minutes later when Will Bird converted a pass from Allen before Bourne finished the half strongly.
Munton made it four in the 41st minute from Jack Wilson's pass before an own goal just before the break gave the Wakes a comfortable cushion at the interval.
Their hosts did pull a goal back eight minutes into the second half but Munton teed up Aaron Eyett to restore the five-goal margin shortly after.
Munton completed his hat-trick with Bourne's seventh goal after rounding off a good move from the visiting side.
Allen then took centre stage with three goals in 18 minutes to move Bourne into double figures for the second time this season.
Munton and Eyett linked well for Allen to make it eight before he fired home his second five minutes later.
Frodingham pulled another goal back before Allen completed the rout when he tapped home after substitute Alex Pitigoi had seen his shot saved.
It capped a comprehensive victory for the Wakes with Flack now urging the side to maintain their high standards ahead of a league trip to Wisbech Town on Tuesday night and the FA Vase tie at Long Buckby on Saturday.
He added: "We're in for a big seven days and, although it was really good to score 10 goals on Saturday, it wasn't perfect because we conceded two.
"We are trying to get that into the boys now that it's about standards and how we can't lower them.
"It doesn't matter what level the side you're playing against. We did it against Dunkirk the other week where we dropped a little bit and started doing things that we don't normally do.
"We've got players like Dan Swan and Richard Jones who have been there and know the standards and they're driving the others on.
"We need to keep to those standards and I said to the lads afterwards that, although we had done really well, I'm still looking to see where we can do better because those two goals which we conceded on Saturday might hurt us in another game."
Bourne have added to their playing ranks by signing defender Bailey Baker from Northern Premier League side Grantham Town.
Baker has previously played for Spalding United and Stocksbridge Park Steels. He was cup tied for the match on Saturday but will be eligible for the midweek match at Wisbech.
Midfielder Sean Archer also returned from injury as a second half substitute in the weekend win.
Bourne have drawn away at Premier Division South side Histon in the next round of the United Counties League KO Cup.
