Deeping Fun Family Dog Show held at Jubilee Park

A dog born without any eyes captured the hearts of judges at an annual show.

The Deeping Fun Family Dog Show was held in Jubilee Park in Thackers Way on Sunday (September 29).

Classes included best doggie family, ‘lookie likie’, golden oldie, cool pup, loveliest lady and most fabulous fella.

The overall winner of the show was two-year-old German shepherd, Moose, who had been born without any eyes and his breeder wanted to have him put down. The vet refused and rehomed him.

Judy Stevens, one of the organisers, said Moose captured the hearts of everyone at the competition.

She added: “The day went really well and we had a good turn out considering it was a cold, windy afternoon.”

Moose was awarded a trophy by the family of Nikki Davies, who had been involved in the show for many years and died last year.

There were a number of stands, including a consultation on Jubilee Park, which Deeping St James Parish Council is taking ownership of from South Kesteven District Council.
