Lewis Davey wins a bronze medal for Great Britain in the men’s 4x400m relay at the Olympic Games in Paris

A second Olympic medal in as many days has been won by a Grantham athlete.

Former Priory Ruskin Academy pupil Lewis Davey was part of Great Britain's men's 4x400m relay team that won a bronze medal in Paris on Saturday night.

It came 24 hours after former Kesteven Girls Grammar School pupil Amy Hunt had won silver in the women's 4x100m relay team.

The duo both started their careers at Grantham Athletics Club before progressing through the ranks.

Davey's performance on the third leg of the 4x400m relay helped his team set a new British record in a time of 2.55.83

They maintained third spot throughout the race with America winning the event in a world record time after finishing ahead of Botswana.
