Walkers confirms Quavers Salt and Vinegar flavour is being discontinued
Walkers has discontinued another flavour of crisp, it has confirmed.
Salt and Vinegar Quavers are no longer being made by the company – a move which one customer jokingly described as a ‘sad day’.
In a reponse to questions on X – formerly Twitter – from customers asking about difficulties in tracking down the flavour, which comes in a green-coloured Quavers bag, Walkers confirmed it is no longer making the curly-shaped crisp in flavour Salt and Vinegar.
Quavers were first launched in 1968 and made by Smith’s but have been produced by Walkers since 1997.
Alongisde the more common cheese flavour Quavers, were additional packets in Salt and Vinegar and Prawn Cocktail.
Yet while some supplies of Salt and Vinegar Quavers remain available to buy – including at Tesco where the supermarket still has stocks showing as available online – Walkers has confirmed it isn’t ‘making the flavour anymore’.
It comes just weeks after Walkers announced it had also stopped making Worcester Sauce flavour crisps.
The company said in early October that the purple crisp bags ‘were no longer part of the range’.
