Police name man whose body was found in Lincoln’s Brayford Pool




The man whose body was found in Lincoln’s Brayford Pool this weekend has been named by police.

Darren Sweetland, 58, was found in the water near to the flyover bridge at 12.40am yesterday (Monday, May 6).

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Mr Sweetland’s family has been informed, and ask for privacy while they deal with their loss,” a Lincolnshire Police statement read.

“Our investigation into his death is ongoing, and we continue to appeal for anyone else with information to come forward.”

A police spokesperson said: “We are keeping an open mind about the circumstances of his death, which is currently being treated as unexplained, and have now launched an investigation.”
