Rutland Water beach at Sykes Lane to close for two days

An inland beach will be closed for two days because of predicted high winds.

The bathing area at Rutland Water’s Sykes Lane will be out of bounds tomorrow and Friday (August 22 and 23) as a result of The Met Office’s forecast.

Gusts of up to 44mph are predicted on Thursday and 47mph on Friday.

The beach is expected to reopen on Saturday.

Burghley Park near Stamford will also be closed on these days with no access to the house, gardens, adventure playground or parkland.

It is also expected to reopen on Saturday.
