Brooke Hill Academy in Oakham shut after flooding from Storm Henk
A flood-hit school has been forced to close.
Brooke Hill Academy in Oakham will not reopen as planned tomorrow (Wednesday, January 3) for the start of the spring term.
It follows heavy rain that caused flooding at the school in Brooke Road.
Storm Henk is causing disruption across the area with many roads and streets flooded.
In a post on social media, headteacher Anna O’Shaughnessy, said: “We are very sorry but due to severe flooding in school, Brooke Hill will not be opening tomorrow.
“We will be in touch tomorrow throughout the day with regular updates.”
