Holebach Meadows teamed up with Be Great Fitness members to put care home residents through their paces
Residents in a care home got physical as they experienced a workout session with some fitness experts.
Holbeach Meadows teamed up with Be Great Fitness members Elly Slator and Bailey Greetham-Clark to promote health and wellbeing for the elderly participants.
Using resistance bands, ribbons and beanbags the group did some gentle exercise in the Sunrise Meadow Unit at the home.
Manager Gemma Woodcock said: “The residents were amazing.
“They engaged with Elly and Bailey in various exercises to strengthen arm muscles, and seated exercises for their legs.
“The sessions are a fabulous addition to our weekly activity programme, alongside our walking club and armchair exercise and yoga to keep the residents moving.”
These gentle exercises will help to maintain and increase muscle strength, to improve mobility, balance and reduce falls.
The home provides activities for the residents on a regular basis such as themed events, a games room and social occasions for friends and family to visit.
