Pippa’s Pantry owner makes emotional decision to retire and sell Sutton Bridge café
A popular café owner who will be retiring is ‘feeling emotional’ about selling a ‘goldmine’ to potential buyers.
Pippa Burrows has run Pippa’s Pantry in Sutton Bridge for more than five years, opening up in 2019, and is looking for new owners ‘to love it as I have.’
The outgoing businesswoman posted a message on Facebook to announce her emotional decision to retire.
She said: “The time has come for Pippa to retire.
“So this can only mean one thing - that my beautiful pantry is going up for sale.
“The pantry is a goldmine, it’s flourishing and it will be sold as a full set-up ready to go for the new owners to love it as I have.”
Pippa has become a pillar of the community - providing hot meals to the elderly and at Christmas, hosting menopause events and protesting against the proposals for an asphalt plant in the village.
About the milestone anniversary she said: “I think with everything that the pantry has been through from the start and with Covid, to get through five years we have done alright.
“It is amazing to feel the community support and we were fully booked inside and out.
“It just shows that there is a community here.”
Pippa had talked in the past about plans to retire and potentially move abroad - but that it would be hard to let go of her business.
She said: “For me to let go would be very difficult.
“I am so attached to it.”
In her social media post Pippa also thanks her loyal customer base and is keen for potential buyers to get in touch.
She added: “If you like the idea of having your own tea room with an amazing loyal customer base that is ready to go from the day you purchase it, please contact me and we will meet to discuss.
“I love you all way way more than you will ever know.
“A very emotional Pippa.”
