Fifth person arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following serious assault in Gosberton




A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault.

He is the fifth person to have been arrested in connection with the attack on a 40-year-old man which took place in Gosberton last Tuesday (June 10).

A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon (Sunday, June 15) on suspicion of attempted murder.

He has been released on police bail while investigations continue.

The incident took place at 1.48am outside a property on the High Street, Gosberton.

Police say the victim ‘sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-altering’.

A 24-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on June 11 and have been released on police bail while investigations continue, while a 42-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder the following day and remain in police custody.

A Lincolnshire Police statement said: “We continue to appeal for information and any witnesses to the incident.
