A17 partly blocked between Swineshead and Bicker Bar after lorry fire

A stretch of the A17 is partly blocked after a lorry fire.

Police say the fire has occurred between the Swineshead level crossing and Bicker Bar roundabout, near to Stump Cross Lane.

A force spokesman said that arrangements have been made to recover the vehicle – but that motorists should expect delays in the area as the lorry is partly blocking the busy road.

In Swineshead itself, High Street is already closed for water main work.

It’s not the only major route in south Lincolnshire to be suffering from traffic issues this morning, with heavy traffic continuing to be experienced around the temporary lights on the A151 in Whaplode – and long queues between Holbeach and Moulton.

Those works were due to finish today.
