Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding to hold concert fundraiser in aid of next year’s Spalding Flower Parade
A group of musicians will be giving their support to help fundraise towards next year’s Spalding Flower Parade.
The Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding (UOOS) will be doing its bit to assist the parade committee in raising funds for the event in May 2025
A concert is planned at Broad Street Methodist Church where the players will perform ‘golden oldies’ along with modern pop songs and sea shanties.
UOOS secretary Katy said: “We are delighted to be supporting their fundraising efforts to ensure that the much-loved parade can now continue in all the renewed glory that we've loved over the last couple of years.
“For the many local members, young and old, it has been a joy to see its return not just with the parade, but in the way it has reignited a community spirit.
“There is a sense of purpose aiming for that one goal and putting our town back on the map again.”
The concert’s repertoire promises to deliver something for everyone and tickets are on sale at Bookmark in Spalding, Crowland Library, on the door on the night or via the Facebook Page.
It takes place on Saturday, November 2 at 7pm and £10 tickets include refreshments.
Katy added: “As a local group, we wanted to give our support to the parade and hope that in doing so, we can also bring some joy into the community.
“We encourage anyone who enjoys music and wants to give their little bit of support to the wonderful work of the Spalding Flower Parade Committee to spend a couple of hours with us.
“We are an orchestra with a bit of a difference - one not to be missed.”
New members are always welcome to join.
