GCSE results 2024: University Academy Holbeach pupils open their results as proud parents look on
Pupils who received their exam results are excited to be on the next step to realising their ambitions.
At the University Academy Holbeach (UAH) proud parents looked on emotionally as their children received grades that were beyond their expectations.
Principal Sheila Paige thanked staff and congratulated pupils including Jess Stancer, Cassie Corcoran and Alfie Cowper-Johnson who were among many who will be continuing their educational journey following their GCSE milestone.
Ms Paige said: “Pupils have shown resilience and have taken advantage of additional intervention classes, Saturday School and Easter School to support their learning.
“They have overcome the challenges that they faced following the school closures and can take pride in their efforts.
There have been some individual outstanding performance amongst pupils who have justly benefitted from their consistent attendance and ambition.”
Ms Stancer, from Sutton St James was expecting a grade 4 in English but through hard work was awarded a 7 plus an 8 in media and a distinction in childcare.
She said: “I feel really excited about going onto A-levels in law, criminology and child development at King’s Lynn college and hopefully onto Cambridge University.”
Proud mum Georgine Stancer said: “I feel so emotional and I am so proud of her.
“She has put so much hard work into it.”
Cassie Corcoran, from Whaplode Drove achieved 8s and 9s in English, French, history, sociology and biology and the fan of Taylor Swift would like to become a doctor.
She said: “It is what I was expecting and I have done quite a lot of work.
“I would like to go onto study medicine and I’d like to eventually do surgery.”
Opening her results with family members there for support she will be going onto study biology, chemistry and maths at Spalding High School.
Mum Paula Summers said: “What a proud mum am I.”
