GCSE results 2024: Spalding Academy enjoy increase in top grades
Students and staff at Spalding Academy are celebrating an increase in the top GCSE grades.
There has been a 15% increase in GCSE grades 7 to 9 compared to 2023.
Additionally, 45% of students who sat a BTEC qualification achieved distinction* or distinction grades, equivalent to a grade 7 to 9.
Notable successes have been recorded in health & social care, sport science and travel & tourism.
South Lincolnshire Academies Trust Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Lucy Conley said “I am extremely proud to share that, as well as the significant success seen at Spalding Academy, all three of the other schools in the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, being Bourne Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy have also had an increase in the GCSE and Vocational grades 7 to 9.
“This demonstrates the Trust’s commitment to school improvement, and that all schools in our Trust are offering students in Lincolnshire the best opportunities possible and aspire to be the best they can be.
“I am pleased that we will see many of these students will continue their studies in the Trust, as a record number of students from Spalding Academy will be joining our SLAT Sixth Form at Bourne Academy to study A-levels and vocational subjects.”
After spending their entire school lives together, twins Layla and Zac Holland are preparing to go their separate ways.

Kristena Bekmane is heading to Bourne Academy’s sixth form after achieving a 9 in history, distinctions in business and performing arts and a 7 in RS and a 6 and 7 in the two English subjects.
