Spalding Flower Parade 2024 - the floats, route and build-up

Spalding Flower Parade returns today - with crowds set to descend on the town in their thousands in the May sunshine.

The event returned from a ten-year break in 2023 and is back again today (Saturday) with a movie theme.

The floats are set to leave the Castle Sports Playing Field in Spalding at about 11am before taking a near-three mile journey around the town.

Street collections on behalf of the Flower parade will be conducted by Slimming World, with members dressed as movie characters - and the proceedings will be led by organiser Stephen Timewell in a showman outfit.

This year there will also be a series of activities running at the Castle site when the parade is over - and an illuminated display of the floats at dark.

That’ll be followed by a family fun day tomorrow (Sunday) in an attempt to make the parade a weekend-long event.

Our team will be out in the town to capture the action as it unfolds - and you can keep up with all of our coverage on our dedicated Spalding Flower Parade page.
