Stamford AFC have retained the services of goalkeeper Tom Jackson and defender Jordon Cooke

Stamford have received a double boost with two key players from last season committing to another campaign with the Southern League club.

After retaining the services of striker Jack Duffy over the weekend, goalkeeper Tom Jackson and defender Jordan Cooke have pledged their futures to the Daniels.

Jackson had an impressive season last term and kept 15 clean sheets in his maiden campaign with the club after arriving from North Ferriby United.

The former Frickley Athletic, Gainsborough, Cleethorpes Town and Belper Town goalkeeper said: "I'm delighted to be signing for my second season with the club.

"It has felt like home from the moment I arrived so there was no doubt in where I wanted to be next season.

"Last year was full of positives and I'm excited to get back out there in front of the fans, ready to push on with the team and I'm looking forward to another successful season."

Cooke was another stand-out performer for a Stamford side that narrowly missed out of the play-off places in the Premier Division Central.

He is now in his third spell with the club after moves to Matlock Town and Cleethorpes Town ahead of returning to the Daniels last term.

Cooke said: "I feel excited and proud that I've re-signed because this club has become home for me.

"The fans, my team-mates and everyone behind the scenes have made it an easy decision and most importantly working with the gaffer again.

"There's so much more to achieve and I'm fully committed to continuing to give everything to the club this season."

Boss Graham Drury was delighted to secure the services of the duo who were among the end of season award winners last term.

He said: "Jacko won both players and supporters player of the year last season and to have him re-sign with us is massive for the club.

"Cookie won my player of the year and I am so chuffed to have him re-sign for another season. He was so good last season, defended so well and became a proper leader in the camp.

"To have these both back within the camp, shapes up the start of our back line nicely."

Stamford have lost defender James Blunden to Cleethorpes Town while Ashton Offler and Luke Redfern will also be moving on.
