A1 Class 60163 Tornado steam locomotive to visit the Nene Valley Railway in Wansford




A locomotive which has hauled royal trains and featured in Top Gear will steam into the area.

The 21st Century Tornado will visit the Nene Valley Railway in Wansford in celebration of locomotives returning to steam.

It will be operating a number of services from March 28 to April 2.

Tornado is the first main line steam locomotive built in the UK since 1960 and first made headlines in 2008.

In the past 10 years, the engine has continued to impress, hauling royal trains and appearing on the big screen in Paddington 2 as well as on numerous television programmes including Top Gear.

It is the fastest steam engine to run since the 1960s, reaching 100mph on a test train in 2017.

While at the Nene Valley Railway, Tornado will operate the below services:

Tornado Driving Experience Courses - March 28 and 29

The Fenman Evening Fish and Chip Train - March 30

Tornado Passenger Services - March 30 and 31, and April 1
