Lincolnshire Police launch Operation Fern appeal as Brian Simpson of Nene Court charged with murder of Kristine Sparane in Spalding
Investigators have launched an appeal for help with Operation Fern following the murder of a woman in Spalding.
South Holland and Lincolnshire Police would like to hear from anyone who has seen or spoken to Kristine Sparane, 37, who was found dead earlier this week.
Brian Simpson, 64, of Nene Court - who is believed to have been known to the victim - is due in court on Monday, December 3 charged with murder.
A police spokesperson said: “We are able to confirm that the woman who sadly died is 37-year-old Kristine Sparane who lived at an address on Winsover Road, Spalding.
“Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
“We would like to hear from anyone who has seen or spoken to Kristine between 3pm on Monday 25 November and 7.30pm on Tuesday 26 November.
“We would appeal for anyone who is able to help with information to contact the investigation team.”
Her body was discovered by officers after they forced their way into the property on Tuesday night (November 26).
Spalding’s Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Matt Dickinson said: “We understand that this incident is likely to be concerning for our community.
“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic death continues.
“Officers and staff from the investigation team remain at the scene and we will be continuing our inquiries for some time.”
The investigation - Operation Fern - remains ongoing as police continue to appeal for information .
