Spalding Flower Parade launches Just Giving crowd funder to help raise £90,000 for 2026 event
The people behind Spalding Flower Parade have launched an appeal to help with the costs of putting on the major event.
Spalding Flower Parade will cost some £90,000 to stage from Springfields Events and Conference Centre for a three day event next May.
In order to maintain free entry for visitors the organisers have started a Just Giving page to accept donations towards the spectacle - which has countries across the world as its theme.
Mick Deveney, director said: “That is what it costs us to do it.
“The costs go up every year.
“It is a lot of money.”
The crowd funder encourages support for ‘one of the region’s most beloved celebrations’ and promises next year’s event to be a ‘vibrant showcase of creativity, colour, and community spirit.’
Stephen Timewell who brought the parade back to the town in 2023 has stepped down as director.
He raised hundreds of thousands of pounds with help from a committed team of volunteers to stage the parade by hosting fundraising events.
In addition, Sir John Hayes MP for South Holland and The Deepings is keen to secure funding from Arts Council England and Lincolnshire Community Foundation for the future of the parade.
A regular update from chairperson Ray Clements can be found on the flower parade page every Tuesday.
Organisers of the 2026 parade promise a ‘whirlwind of culture, music, food, and floral magic - all right here in the heart of Spalding’.
