Cadent returns to carry out more work on the A151 in Whaplode, leading to delays for motorists

Motorists passing through Whaplode are being met with yet more roadworks.

There are temporary traffic lights on the A151 in the middle of the village, with Cadent returning to carry out more gas works this morning (Monday).

Drivers reported congestion during the morning rush hour – and the works are scheduled to last until Wednesday (March 20).

Cadent apologised in January after its last set of Whaplode works led to long queues of traffic – while Anglian Water then carried out repairs on the same stretch of road in February, which also led to disruption.

The January and February incidents led to renewed calls for a bypass for Whaplode.
