Spalding United manager Jimmy Dean speaks about his side’s disciplinary record.
Spalding United manager Jimmy Dean feels the spate of bookings and sendings off this season are starting to ruin non-league football.
Dean now wants the footballing hierarchy to look at their directive which has seen officials issue a flurry of cards during this season's campaign.
He said: "It is something that I want to touch on because there's been four sendings off over the last two games and there hasn't been a bad tackle in either match.
"I understand that there has to be discipline on the pitch but there also has to be common sense.
"The referees are doing what they've been asked to do because it's happening across the board but I do feel that they've got to slow it down a bit.
"It's not just my team but others as well and it's difficult to contend with. I think the hierarchy really needs to have a look at it because it's ruining football at this level."
The Tulips will be without both Brown and Barker for their Southern League Premier Division Central clash at home to Leiston on Tuesday night.
Barker received a straight red card for a challenge in the win at Royston and faces a three-game ban while Brown misses one match after twice being cautioned - the second yellow card came after he asked the referee to check if the ball was flat and he was booked for time tasting.
Dean added: "They are two very important players.
"Connor has been superb since we brought him in and Kyle has been really key.
"We conceded three goals against Sudbury when he went off injured and, since he came back, we've won both games.
"He has quality with the ball and the way that he knits it together with his intelligence to be in the right positions. He has made a huge difference and they will both be a big miss."
Sherif will be eligible for the midweek match but then faces a two-game suspension for his second sending off of the season after being dismissed late on in the win over Lowestoft.
He will miss the trip to Halesowen on November 2 and the away match at Stratford seven days later.
Dean commented: "It is gutting for Lamine because his last two performances have been immense.
"He was really poor last Saturday at Hitchin and I can say that now publicly because of his response and the reaction that he has given us which has been unbelievable. He will be a big miss in those two games."
Spalding head into their midweek match having won four of their last five league games. They are now up to 14th in the table.
