Meet the Lincolnshire and Rutland people joining Sir David Beckham in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2025

Never mind the new Sir David Beckham, a host of people from our area have also been recognised by the King.

While Friday the 13th might be considered unlucky, with the release of the King’s Birthday Honours List tonight, it was a day to celebrate for some.

As always, there’s a host of famous folk recognised by His Majesty - including David Beckham, who has received a knighthood for services to sport and charity, and singer Roger Daltrey, recognised not just for his services to music as a member of The Who but also for his services to charity as patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Right after Sir Roger on the list though is Vernon Gibson, a Grantham-born scientist who is now a sir thanks to his efforts in the science and defence industries. Read more of Vernon’s story here.

Elsewhere, famous faces on the 2025 list include sculptor Anthony Gormley, designer Emma Bridgewater, politician Penny Mordaunt, actor Gary OIdman, singer Elaine Paige and darts player Luke Humphries.

But joining them from our neck of the woods, as well as Sir Vernon Gibson, are:

* Paul Livingston, from Oakham and the chief executive of Lockheed Martin UK, who is made a CBE for services to the defence industry.

* Catherine Payne, the chief executive of the REAch2 Academy Trust and from Lincoln, who receives a CBE for services to education.

* Paul Boucher, also from Lincoln and the director of the Lincolnshire Traveller Initiative, who is made an OBE for services to the Traveller community.

* Sybille Graham, from Spalding, who is made an MBE for public service for her work as the technical lead at HM Revenue and Customs.

* Jason Wilsher-Mills, an artist from Sleaford, is made an MBE for services to the arts and disability.

* Eleanor Grace Hutton, the manager of Explorosity Education from Louth, receives an MBE for services to Early Years Provision.

* Colin Magee, the co-founder of the Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Sailing Association, also receives an MBE for services to young people and to people with disabilities.

* Anne Cowan, from Rutland, who also gets a British Empire Medal for services to the community in Manton.

* Dr Sheila Halliday-Pegg, who lives in the Stamford area, who is also the recipient of a British Empire Medal for services to the community in Bourne.

Congratulations to you all!
